Important notice

March 2002:
We regret to have to inform you that the share holders of ELIN OLTC GmbH have decided to stop the development and production of On-Load Tap Changers and Off-Circuit Tap Changers by 30 June 2002.

Since the separation from ELIN EV GmbH in 1993 the turn over was greatly increased and major developments like the thyristor aided diverter switch (TADS) were completed. However the share holders were not prepared to commit further investments to achieve a satisfactory market share.

ELIN OLTC will complete and deliver all outstanding orders and we propose setting up an organization which will continue the maintenance, spares and service for all conventional tap changers delivered by ELIN and ELIN OLTC GmbH. ELIN OLTC GmbH will honor all outstanding warrantees and guaranties.

We ask for your understanding of the short time scale for implementing all the above which we feel is necessary for a smooth transition. We trust that this will not cause you any undue inconvenience and that we can rely on your support in the new maintenance, spares and service organization.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers, suppliers and other business partners for all there past support and co-operation.

May 2002:
With regards to our earlier announcement we are pleased to advise that we have appointed a competent partner to undertake all the future service and maintenance activities of ELIN OLTC GmbH.

From the 1 July 2002 the company ets, who can be contacted at the address given below, will, in addition to their existing activities, be able to offer a complete maintenance and spare parts service for the complete range of tap-changers manufactured by ELIN and ELIN OLTC GmbH.

All work will be carried out with personnel who will be of the same degree of training and professionalism as that which existed at ELIN OLTC and that the new company has access to all the original spare parts which will be required in future years.
